RIOSA, an enterprise stablished in 1965 has a huge experience in the field of manufactured oils & fats for animal feeding. We recycle the fat residues from the refining of vegetable oils (such as olive oil, or seed oils), using them as an ingredient for animal feed, for making special soaps (whose fatty components should come from vegetables), and to get fatty chemical raw materials for industry (like fatty acids, and squalene).
ANIMAL FEEDING: Our company is well known by its products for animal feeding. The products we recommend for each kind of animal are shown behind:

Our experts in animal nutrition will be willing to help you to know the most accurate kind of product you would use to get the best production according to your special needs. Do not hesitate to consult us about your optimal requirements!!
All our products for animal feeding are from vegetable fats, so they have no cholesterol in them. The animals fed by our "vegfats" (from vegetable fats), have lower level of cholesterol, and they give products healthier for human nutrition.
SOAP MAKING: Riosa is able to supply almost all kinds of fats for special soaps, like olive oil (or "Castilia") soap. We prepare the oils and fats in their best point of free acid and saponification index to get high quality soaps.
CHEMICAL FATTY PRODUCTS: We also refine and prepare some kinds of fats for the industry, like olive fatty acids and shark liver oil, both of them with high level of SQUALENE in their composition, ready to get squalane from them. Some of the raw materials we produce are the following:
- Oleic Acid:
Employed in many organic reactions. It is also very useful in the non-metal and precious metal mining, in the "floating" process. Being only vegetable, it is absolutely harmless for the human skin.- Other Distilled Fatty Acids:
Like the unsaponifiable concentrates from seed oils, useful to get antioxidants and provitamines.- Squalene Bearing Fats:
Not only from sea animals (shark liver oil, seal), but also from strictly vegetable origin (olive oil).
The vegfats or acid oils are the part of vegetable oils (olive and sunflower mainly) separated and dumped in the refining process to get them edible, although this one is probably worther for feeding.
For instance, concerning the spanish "iberic pig", RIOSA can supply three products or qualities very similar in their composition to oak seed oil (oak seed is well known as the classic feed for the best quality iberic pig to get spanish "pata negra" ham). From them we recommend one or another according to the quantity of corn mixed with the vegfats (and other components) to feed the iberic pig.
Corn is another normal component for mixed feed containing a significant quantity of fat (near 4% of corn oil, similar in composition to sunflower oil). So that it is important to count both sources to get a fat equilibrated feed (other fat bering raw materials are the crude crushed seds).
Our three lipids for the iberic pig have the best composition to infiltrate into the ham meet. But if what we are searching is to imitate the good taste the iberic ham gets with the true oak seed. And as our "iberic" fats come mainly from the olive, applying them to pigs, we reedited the primitive spanish fashion of drive the pigs into the olive field freshly recollected, to get them fed with the rest of olives lying on the field.
Also opposite to lard, you must realize the advantages of our kinds of iberic vegfats. Even the lard from only the iberic pig (which is very difficult to verify and believe), it is usually a mixture of fats from many kinds of iberic pigs, the ones fed only with oak seed, and the ones with other kinds of feeding. Only our vegfats have always a fixed and accurate composition to accomplish the ACERIBER requirements.
All vegfats must not be feeded to pigs with less than 12/14 kg of true alive weight. In lower ages is better to employ refatted materials, or even sunflower oil, but the common one, and not the "high oleic sunflower oil", which is more expensive and has no more advantages(Also for adult pigs is useless to look for this quality of oil, since the common kinds of olive give 60% and 70% of oleic acid; more than the requirements)
What is really necessary in vegfats, or acids oils, is an accurate process of purification and a strong quality control. RIOSA guaranties in its products a pH=5.5, that is very important to be harmless for the animal; even more in the young ones. Besides we deliver our products at 55 ºC of temperature, which is a result of the "stripping" process we apply to them (at vacuum and with a vapor stream, to get them free of peroxides and solvent residues, taking out their normal strong smell, and drying them to a point lower than 1.0%).
Recycling fat residues, RIOSA takes also its role in the environment protection, helped by a strict water purification of the effluent in its installations, powered by the latest technological advances.
